Manue and Mano are delighted to welcome you to their self-catering gîte “Les Pivoines” in the commune of Notre Dame de Monts, in northern Vendée. Ideally located 10 minutes from Saint-Jean-de-Monts and 20 minutes from Challans, this town is only a few kilometers away from major urban centers such as Nantes (1h) and La Roche-sur-Yon (50 minutes), as well as the islands of Noirmoutier and Ile d'Yeu.
Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, this seaside town is a true paradise for lovers of nature and wide-open spaces. With 80% of its territory protected, divided between beach, forest and marsh, Notre-Dame-de-Monts is an ideal destination for vacations, alone or with the family, and will satisfy every desire (relaxation, sport, adventure, culture, etc.).
The seaside resort boasts 8 sandy beaches stretching over 4.5 kilometers. With its many coastal paths, you can walk or cycle all year round. The proximity of the coastline also allows you to enjoy a wide range of sports (cycling, horse-riding, running, hiking, golf, etc.) and water sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, longe côte, paddleboarding and fishing.
You can also discover the local culture and heritage of the Vendée region by visiting must-see tourist sites such as Jardin du Vent, Biotopia, Kulmino, Le Daviaud, Moulin de Rairé, the artisan village of Sallertaine (voted one of the most beautiful villages in France), Passage du Gois, etc.
Description of accommodation :
Our “Les Pivoines” accommodation is located 300 meters away from the national forest and the cycle path linking Saint Jean de Monts to the Ile de Noirmoutier, as well as 1500 meters from the beach (20-minute walk from the Bois Soret beach). The property is located 5 minutes by car from the town center with its shops, restaurants and bars (in summer, free Eole shuttles are offered by the commune), 5 minutes by car from the Noirmoutier bridge and 5 minutes from the pier to Ile d'Yeu. The weekly market takes place on Sunday mornings in the church square and on Thursday mornings in July and August.
The apartment is brand new (2021) and fully equipped, with a 35 m² living room with open kitchen, 3 bedrooms (11 m² each), bathroom and separate toilet. Outside, you can also enjoy a wooden terrace with all its furniture (chairs, table) and a heated swimming pool (on request) for a successful vacation.
The 75 m² apartment comprises:
- 35 m² living room with open-plan fitted kitchen,
- 3 separate bedrooms:
- beds = 1 x 140, 1 x 140 and 2 x 90
- 1 bathroom with walk-in shower,
- 1 separate toilet,
- 1 cellar with washing machine and storage space,
- total plot surface 350 m²,
- outdoor swimming pool (heated on request),
- single-storey, south-facing house.
Accommodation not suitable for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.
This house was designed to accommodate couples or families with children. The house is semi-detached and surrounded by other residential areas. Please respect the quiet atmosphere in the evenings and avoid any noise disturbance to the neighborhood.
Pets are not allowed.

How to get to Notre Dame de Monts
There are several ways to get to Notre Dame de Monts:
By car: if you prefer to travel by car, Notre Dame de Monts is easily accessible by road. Whether you're coming from the north or south, simply follow the signs to the D38 towards the coast. Once there, you'll find free parking close to the main points of interest.
By bus: if you prefer public transport, regular bus routes serve Notre Dame de Monts from the main surrounding towns. Check timetables and routes with local transport companies to plan your trip with ease.
By train: choose Challans as your arrival station, Notre Dame de Monts is then 25 min away by bus or carpool.
By plane: Nantes Atlantique airport is 50 minutes away, so you can plan your trip with peace of mind.
By bike: for cycling enthusiasts, Notre Dame de Monts is also accessible via magnificent cycle paths along the coast and through unspoilt countryside. Rent a bike on site or bring your own to enjoy this invigorating, ecological experience.
